Tip Of The Day: Las Palmas' Pub By The Beach

Las Buenas Pulgas: Beachside pub atmosphere in Las Palmas Las Buenas Pulgas: Beachside pub atmosphere in Las Palmas www.photosgrancanaria.com

Las Buenas Pulgas is as close as you get to British pub atmosphere by the beach in Las Palmas.

Las Palmas' old-time British residents still wax lyrical about the food and atmosphere of Pat's Place, the city's famous British Pub, and the anarchic fun of Tommy's, it's short-lived successor, but the city doesn't have a pub at the moment. While Maria & Stewart Kitchen & Bar over in Triana does excellent British-inspired grub, the closest you'll get to the pub on the beachfront is Las Buenas Pulgas.

Pulgas combines the best of a beachfront cafe, with outdoor tables and sea views, and cosy pub interior with a well-stocked bar and beers from all over the world. Head to the back and there's a fantastic sofa nook that is just like being in the pub back at home. The service is friendly and it does a selection of tapas and pulgas (tiny rolls with a variety of fillings).

Las Buenas Pulgas is on the corner where Calle El Cid meets the beachfront.
