Palmitos Park is a subtropical oasis located only 10 km away from Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. Its botanical and ornithological gardens, feature thousands of palm trees, orchids and plants, hundreds of exotic birds and creatures which together give the park its deserved good reputation. Its exhibitions and large number of combined attractions, including the interactive enclosure and the stingray pool, are a unique experience.
Birds of prey and exotic birds feature strongly at the park and eagles, falcons, parrots and macaws are the stars of the show. Enjoy the displays at the amphitheatre located in a unique, natural environment surrounded by stunning panoramic views.
The park has been established for over 25 years and has steadily expanded its range of animals to now include orang utans, caimans, meerkats, groundhogs and wallabies. It is now becoming much more than a bird park and a dolphinarium will shortly open. The park was badly affected by the disastrous fires on Gran Canaria in 2007 but has recovered strongly since then.
For visitors, it is easily reached by bus and taxi from all the main resorts and has a large, free car park. Inside there is a well stocked souvenir shop together with plenty of cafeterias and restaurants. Visitors can easily spend a half or full day at Palmitos Park.
